Butterfly valves, also known as flip valves, are often used in pipelines conveying various corrosive and non-corrosive fluids in engineering systems such as generators, gas, natural gas, liquefied petroleum gas, hot and cold air, chemical smelting, and so on to regulate and cut off the flow of media.
Working Principle of Butterfly Valve
Butterfly valve is a kind of valve which uses circular butterfly plate as opening and closing parts and rotates with the stem to open, close and adjust the fluid passage. The butterfly plate of the butterfly valve is installed in the diameter direction of the pipeline. In the cylindrical passage of the butterfly valve body, the disc butterfly plate rotates around the axis, the rotation angle is between 0 ~90 and when it rotates to 90 the valve is fully open. The flow of medium can be controlled by changing the deflection angle of the plate.
Structural characteristics of concentric butterfly valve
The structural characteristics of the butterfly valve are that the axis of the stem, the center of the butterfly plate and the center of the body are in the same position. Generally speaking, concentric butterfly valves should be used as far as possible if they can be used in principle, because concentric butterfly valves are not required to be sealed in structure or operation and belong to conventional products. The utility model has the advantages of simple structure and convenient manufacture. Common rubber-lined butterfly valves belong to this category. But the disadvantage of concentric butterfly valve is that the butterfly plate and seat are always in the state of extrusion and scratch, with large resistance distance and fast wear and tear.
